[Certified Refurbished] Zalman S3 ATX Mid-Tower PC Case

When I bought this case, I was questioning my decision to buy a refurbished case for my new build, but I have to say that I don't regret it one bit and am actually pretty blown away by this case. I was trying to be budget-conscious and trim out extra expenses in any way I could without affecting gaming performance.

I had originally bought the absolute cheapest one I could find on Amazon, which was around $50, and it was a total piece of junk. In addition to poor all-around quality, it was configured so that the PSU fan blew its hot exhaust air directly into the case and onto the motherboard and CPU. Plus the case only came with 2 case fans. My PC overheated within 30 minutes of gaming. The next step up on Amazon was around $80, and I just couldn't afford it, and luckily I found Zalman through a Google search.

At the time I bought this refurbished case, it was around $32, and I'm blown away by how much better it is than the one I got on Amazon. The PSU fan exhaust is directed outside the case, like any normal case should be, and it comes with 4 fans pre-installed. I could have even gotten the tempered glass version for another 4 or 5 bucks, but the acrylic version I went with looks fantastic and I'm really happy with it. In fact, I'm really happy with every aspect of the case's aesthetic, and it's a super clean-looking machine. Plenty of room for cable management and extra slots for SSDs and HDDs. My temperatures have remained stable and consistent and well within the range I want them at, just with the stock fans.

It was delivered on a Saturday, and USPS must have been tossing it around the truck during shipping because it arrived with a broken foot. I emailed Zalman that Saturday, and they continued communicating with me on Saturday and Sunday, and they promptly shipped 4 new replacement feet, as well as a totally unnecessary but very much appreciated tube of high-quality thermal paste for the trouble.

I will definitely be looking to Zalman first on all my future builds, whether I'm pinching pennies at that time or not. Awesome company and awesome product!

I continue to order these cases as they are fairly sturdy and still have a front panel slot for a 5.25" optical drive. Yeah, kinda old school, but it still works for me and people I build systems for. Zalman refurbished cases are top-tier in my opinion. Extremely well handled and packaged like new. I wish every other company selling refurbished items took as much care in handling their things.
